The story so far
Under the Boss opens on the morning a new temp called Harriet walks into a glass-walled office in the City of London. She is twenty, curvy, chatty when she is nervous and convinced that every colleague on the floor could be a model. The man at the top notices her within minutes. He scraps his nine o’clock, waves away the schedule his assistant reads out and announces that he will show the new girl around in person.
His personal assistant, a polished blonde who was halfway through angling for a Thursday dinner with him, is left standing with her tablet. Her jealousy drives the series: she watches through the glass, she trades gossip with the rest of the team, and as the chapters go on she works harder and harder to split the pair up.
The tone sits closer to a cheeky British workplace comedy than to a thriller. Harriet blurts out the wrong compliment, swears at her new manager before lunch and apologises in the same breath, and he plainly enjoys every second of it.

Each chapter is a short vertical clip made for a phone screen; the opener lasts 1 minute 28 seconds. Episode 1 plays for anybody who lands on the series.
